The Oracle set his mind to the following conundrum
[quote:9083a77897="Shawnna"]Dear Orekol How do you make peanut butter? :D[/quote:9083a77897] mmm.... Peanut butter.... Did you know that about half of the entire production of peanuts in the US goes to the making of peanut butter? Home made peanut butter is very easy and is certainly the tastiest type. I've found a nice recipe using American measurements. You do need a food processor though. 2 cups roasted shelled peanuts 1 tablespoon peanut oil 1/2 teaspoon salt (omit if salted peanuts are used) Using the metal blade, process ingredients continuously for 2 to 3 minutes. The ground peanuts will form a ball which will slowly disappear. Continue to process until the desired consistency is obtained. If necessary, stop machine and scrape sides of container with a rubber spatula. For crunchy peanut butter, stir in 1/2 cup chopped roasted peanuts after the processing is completed. Yields 1 cup creamy or 1-1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter. Store in a tightly closed container in the refrigerator. Oil may rise to the top. If this occurs, stir before using.

The Oracle set about the task of destroying the following paradox.
[quote:954162276b="Kahn"]ooh, i got one for the oracle.... What came first.. the chicken or the egg? and yes...there IS an answer.[/quote:954162276b] The Oracle is forced to wonder why he is required to answer questions where the questioner clearly has already deduced an answer, however, for the betterment of all, The Oracle will proceed. The Oracle will assume this is in fact a sensible question, requiring an answer based in reality and scientific method. Doubtless other answers exist from a humorous standpoint, but the Oracle leaves such frivolity to others. Further, the Oracle is minded to view evolution as accepted science and accordingly will base his answer upon this premise. To answer the question, we must first examine the origin of the humble Chicken, indeed, the arrival of birds in general. Birds, it is generally accepted, evolved from dinosaurs and the fossil record would seem to indicate that our chicken ([i:954162276b]Gallus Domesticus[/i:954162276b]) and it's wild ancestor ([i:954162276b]Gallus gallus[/i:954162276b]) are evolved from [i:954162276b]Archaeopteryx[/i:954162276b]. Clearly at the time of [i:954162276b]Archaeopteryx[/i:954162276b] there are no chickens. There must therefore be a point when the first chicken was hatched. Evolution dictates that even one generation before the chicken, was a NON-CHICKEN! Our timeline goes something like.... Several Million Years BC (before chickens) Jurassic Non-Chicken Egg Triassic Non-Chicken Egg History Continues Great Grandmother of Chicken Egg Grandmother of Chicken Egg Mother of Chicken Egg (1BC) FIRST CHICKEN 1 AD (A-doodle-do) Egg Another Chicken Egg-cetera. So, the first chicken hatched from the egg of some kind of proto-chicken. Therefore the egg came first. Easy.

The SoC oracle considered his weights and measures.

Larger, sweet peppers (aka capsicums) would take up more room and you'd get less in a peck, whilst smaller habaneroes would yield larger quantities. Also, as an aside you have misquoted the tongue twister in question: "If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?"

The Oracle looked favourably upon the younger members of the audience.
[quote:311590c07a="Shawnna"]Dear Mr. Oracel, what is mother nature??? :?[/quote:311590c07a] Well, there are two answers to this question really and they both revolve around the name Gaia (pronounced as guy-ya). There are a number of pagans who believe in Gaia as a goddess. It is her job as Mother Nature, or Mother Earth to look after all living things on the planet. Nothing is more important than life itself. Whatever happens, be it the action of man, or some other natural disaster, life will survive by the power of the goddess. The other way of looking at this is more scientifically. Gaia as an ecological concept. The Earth is a self-regulating system, designed for life to exist. This is shown by the apparent appearance of life almost as soon as conditions were able to support it, some 4 billion years ago. Some ecologists therefore believe that such things as global warming and other environmental pressures brought by man are unimportant in the long term. Man may destroy itself, but the Gaia theory states that life on the Earth will survive. Perhaps another intelligent race might arise and treat the planet with more consideration. However you look at it, as a goddess or a scientific principle, I like to believe that Gaia is a way of keeping mankind in it's proper perspective. We have existed for a minute speck of time in the ages of our planet, let along the universe. We are unimportant and life will carry on without us. Our time is now, we have our chance. What we do with it is entirely up to us.

(I now apply to the foretelling abilites any respecting Oracle should have) If Apple has officially released a means of booting Windows on the Intel chipped Macs, how long 'til we get OS/X for PCs??

The Oracle peered forward into the mists of time.
[quote:89f796d53d="Kahn"]The Oracle still in?[/quote:89f796d53d] Ah, you again... what do you need today. [quote:89f796d53d]If Apple has officially released a means of booting Windows on the Intel chipped Macs, how long 'til we get OS/X for PCs??[/quote:89f796d53d] Already. Let us firstly remember that OS/X is little more than a FreeBSD port and FreeBSD already works good on the Intel platform. It should therefore come as no surprise that people would jump on the bandwagon and wonder "HOW DO WE DO THIS?" Xbox running Linux, Mac running Windows, PC running OS X. It's all part of the same mentality. The port has been done and the methods are well documented. Enjoy.
