Well, I did it.
In honour of the upcoming online reunion, I have pulled together a few nice maps and made a new hub.
It's based on West London, to which I added a few more exits and includes...
Old Mansion, which now has a swimming pool and gardens, lifted from Mundug's hotel.
Bookstore and Alley
One Bedroom apartment
Curio shop
Club Tenebrae
Afterhours Office
Leopold Mansion
Tremere library and cloister - Previously unreleased work by me :)
It's kind of a large download - sorry. That's in part due to the custom music tracks, but also because I had to make changes to most of these maps, so new versions of the levels are included in my zip. I've taken care to give them unique names so that they will not conflict with the original versions of any of these maps.
Get it at http://mortimer.ripz.org/soc/maps/tromslondon.zip

Does it need a particular mod to run?

I used WTD3.5 and it ran fine. I like the new doorway for the upstairs flat :) Also, I beamed to the alley and couldn't get the bookshop door happening. Is it just me?

There are actually 4 new exits on the map. Glad you like them.
The alley seems a bit strange, I don't know why, you need to walk close to the door for the exit to work properly.
It's for no specific mod - uses generic props. Anything non-standard is included in the nobfile, but really it's just some custom textures.

Speaking of the reunion....can we have more details on that? Like where, when etc....who's invited, who's not (personally I'd vote to leave Frank out),, etc etc..
(heh, y'know I love you toasty)

[i:b1d4901583]Yesterday I got windows xp installed on my computer, and I can't seem to be able to install the game anymore :? , had no problems installing it on windows 98, is there a reason it won't run on xp?

Hey Laura,
I have XP and let me tell you that getting it to run vampire is like getting water to boil in a chocolate kettle witout making a mess or using any super glue.
If you have a copy of the game when it was released a second time round with the patch included ( i think it was called gold, white lable, cheap shit or xplosiv) or something, i never got it to run on XP. It just refuses to be nice.
But there is some good news, i think.
however i got my trusty first edition (in the box that falls to pieces and has a disc thats really scratched) works like a dream, well after a while it does.
I might be able to help, just lemme know some more details n stuff and ill see what i can do.
want a pineapple?

I too have the first edition of Vampire - it installs onto XP straight out of the box with no problems.
The only thing it seems to really hate is if I alt-tab out of it, which makes it crash.
Did the white label edition come with the same style of CD-keys? If so, and if you have a Cd-burner, I could make the images of the original Cd's available for download

[i:bf17431999]Thanks for the quick answers :D
The game was given to me by a friend, it's the old version. What it does is, when the installer comes up, it blocks at 99% for a while, then just crashes. I checked the Cd and it has no dents or scratches on it... is there a reason why it does it anyway?[/i:bf17431999]

Sorry hun, it does sound as if the media is defective, even if you can't see anything wrong with it.
As a test, try to copy the contents of the CD onto your hard drive. If the CD won't copy completely, then you have a broken disk.
It could also be that your CD reader doesn't like the disk for some reason. It's possible that a different cd-rom might be able to read it, in which case, perhaps you could borrow it, fit it in your computer temporarily and install the game.
Assuming, of course, you know how to mess with the insides of computers, or have a willing friend, who does.
My box also says minimum win 95/98.
It's the disk that's broken if it's anything.
