I plan to get online ingame at some point in the near future.
Will be nice to see some folks in there again, even, dare I say it, IC!
I'd like to suggest that it would be good to decide which mods we might like to use.
Our choices (in general terms) would seem to be WTD or COTD.
I've never used COTD, but quite happy to, if it's the better choice.
Anyone else interested in this? (silly question I think). Thoughts?

I've never used COTD but my daughter, Ami, has and I quote
"It's a load of crap, it freezes a lot and you can't use some of the disciplines"
I agree with you though Stef, it would be good to get back into the game now and again :)

Actually CoTD was far more accurate as far as Disciplines go. Mine never really froze up that I can recall...but then again, if I got back into game I probably wouldn't be using too many Discs...after all we're no longer gaming...so what does it matter how much exp. our chars have and so forth?
I'd just be in it for the RP.

COTD Does seem to be more accurate for disciplines.
As for crashing... I started playing with WTD3.5 at about 10pm last night and 2.5 hours later I was going to bed, because the thought of reinstalling my bolloxed game at that time of night was all too much. On the other hand, I had forgotten to install the wtdcompat mod. In actual fact, I had forgotten it existed until Batty uploaded it earlier today.
I am very much in two minds.
I lean towards COTD because it's more accurate and is a sort of natural successor to WTD in it's evolution. After WTD3.5Beta, WTD died a death, with good people moving to COTD.
On the other hand, I have populated savegames, Trom's old office and the Old Mansion map, for examples, which use WTD props, which would be nice to use out of the box without tweaking.
Then again... perhaps someone (Eury?) might know if the WTD Megapack can be used without the WTD mod. If it's just a case of replacing a few "sitting" chairs (to make them work right) then I could easily live with that.

As far as I remember the MegaPAcks were standalone. At least the most recent one (the one I made) was... But yeah, sitting chairs, and maybe a few other things that might use script or soft-code wont work (but it might crash the game if theyre in the map and the MOD isnt running)
Best advice? Give it a try beforehand ;)
Oh, and im totally up for meeting in game :)

Kick and I have talked about going in game alot recently. Purely for small group RPing in bar settings.
I couldn't give a toss about mods etc as I won't be getting that in depth. A suitable skin for Finn would be nice though. But I'm not going to spend ages looking for one.
I'll be sticking to the boards mainly, going in game to RP deals and set up little plots.
Of course, this is all a "maybe".

I been playing with CotD.
I like.
Bits of it seem to be compatible... but I'm going to have to repopulate some of my stuff. I think I'd rather use CotD and do that. I'll still install WTD megapaks though.

Well, I take back the stuff about repopulating.
It would help (A LOT) if I actually installed the map that goes with it.
All my old saves work with COTD, up to and including WTD sitting chairs. I guess they use the same code.

Well, I think my analysis is that CotD is a better mod, but restrictive.
If I were to have (for example) a Ventrue, with Malkavian tendancies... he can't use Dementation. Not at all.
And ok... the RP that led to Trom going mad blah blah was unusual but not impossible.
Oh I dunno...
One thing that did come up though... At least one player is on dialup and already has WTD. The time to download a different mod at 56k could be a reasonable argument for sticking to WTD, if more people already have it.

I'll definitely be in game.
I have both installed. I like CotD for the accuracy of discs, etc but I think I prefer WTD for the extras and the stability. CotD crashes a lot.
I've spoken to a new old time vampers and they're all really interested into a reunion :)

I'm putting a little hub together, for this. It will be West London, with some extra exits.
It will certainly contain Old mansion (instead of Leopold) & Parts of Mundug's hotel (to make grounds for the mansion)
I am thinking of linking bookstore and alley instead of curio shop.
I may leave club tenebrae in, or I may replace the club with another one.
I'll be putting in more dwellings.
I don't want it *too* scary for downloads, but am open to suggestions.
Embrace... yeesh... trying to remember all the commands... um....

Ok...so, should I re-download WTD or download COTD for the first time? or both?...I got cable now, so it's not a real problem....altough my average dl speed from Tromador's server is about 15 kb/s...not exactly speedy...

I don't know why it's so slow Graventhorpe. That is a 2Mbp/s frame relay line you are pulling from. I generally get 200KB/s from it on my 2Mbps cable line, unless it's busy... which is possible. It's the weekend and I do host something else with fairly heavy usage from there.
If nobody objects to me making the decision :) I think we'll go with WTD 3.5.
I think you also want wtdcompat (Eury?) and you'll prolly want the megapack.
The hub is coming along nicely, I'll list what you need for that when it's done.
