Heh. Don't despair, kiddo. I remember having the specter before me of having to pass my own typing test to graduate in my business course. I just KNEW I'd fail it! The requirements were 35 wpm. That's all. 35 effing words per minute!! How the [b:25e2050805]HELL[/b:25e2050805] was I ever going to manage it?
Well, needless to say, I read my typing book and found the one piece of advice it gave. Practice, practice, PRACTICE!! So, I fought it, I rationlized it, I excused it and THEN I buckled down to it and......... you guessed it, I practiced.
No, I did NOT pass with flying colors, but I [b:25e2050805]did[/b:25e2050805] pass! It was many, many, many more years of work skills (I was a data entry operator for nearly 25 yrs.) before I even had a decent speed. But I've never once regretted having made myself learn to type.
Now, just in case you think I can't make mistakes, think again. I do, you just don't see them because I'm a detail oriented person. I simply backtrack and correct, read and re-read it all in hopes of catching all of them. I don't but then it gives me something to do when I happen to come back and read it again. ::shrugs:: But that's just little ol' perfectionist me. YOU don't have to. 8)
Heh, post away, dear. It will be fun to watch your typing improve as you go along. It will bring back some good memories of me. :)
