Well...my boss was canned yesterday. He wasn't performing up to expectations. It's true, he wasn't. We all joked about how lazy he was. It was a running joke. But he was funny, nice, compassionate, and a friend to us all. He didn't deserve it the way he got it. Clean out your desk be gone by the end the of day. Hell it wasn't even the end of the day. It was barely after lunch! He just walked up, started packing his stuff and carried it out in boxes. 7 years of your professional life packed up in 45 minutes. That's nuts! I followed him out to his car and asked if he was alright. He just shook my hand and told me to take care. From a practical standpoint, his leaving is a bad thing because he was the buffer between us and the top brass. Probably one of the reasons he had so many enemies. So now we're exposed and vulnerable. Ah well. You'll be missed Scott old boy! |
